Sad Day

For some reason the businesses that are going in next door in the Big Creek Technology Campus would like to see through the woods to our house.  (This is the closest I've ever gotta to tying myself to a tree! :P)  It literally happened in an afternoon.  I'd hung laundry out that morning and put the few stray pairs of underwear that missed making it into the dryer on the back line so no one could see them...or so I thought.  I came home to see that the back hoe guy had a great view of them all afternoon!

What a shock to come home to a back hoe IN "our" back yard!
BEFORE

We decided we're really glad we don't have the pool now...
there went the privacy!

AFTER

This pictures actually makes it look like a beautiful sunrise
behind the trees, but that's actually just piles of brush/trees,
the cornfield, and distant tree line.  It will soon be the back
of a building, like the one on the right. :'(
I know...what are we complaining about...we still have an amazing lot.  At least our trees don't consist of two "sticks" in the front yard.  But it still feels so sad, as it really changes to feel the lot.  Don't blame us if appears that new trees and/or underbrush have been planted in the woods at some point!

Luke

Luke came to play yesterday and it turned out to be quite a hoot!  These two have pretty much only parallel played up until now, but yesterday was a different story.  It has to help that they are able to understand each other now.  Another factor is that Luke's imagination seems to equal Jack's, so they are both able to see how a couch becomes a truck and a foot stool a trailer, etc.  They also both have grandpas who have farms, so they are on the same page when it comes to farm equipment!  And apparently they have the same sense of humor for now--what a riot to hear them cracking up about stuff together!

Playing together

This was probably this first time Jack really wanted Lane to play with him.  First, he wanted Lane to hide with him.  Then he hid from Lane, who found his feet sticking out from under the curtains, which then became their tent.

"Woo-hoo! Jack wants to play with me!"
Brothers
Found him!

"Pum in Yane!"

Outtakes...
Doesn't take much to get Lane off balance!

Whoops...tight quarters!

Jack's annual STL visit

Jack got to spend about four days w/ Grammi & Papa and then the rest of us got a day or so with them when then brought Jack back.  Jack had a great time and it sounds like they enjoyed him too.  We appreciated a quiet house for a few days, but definitely missed the little guy!

Reading with Grammi
Lane got his share of attention too!
Getting some Grammi time
Guess who this guy ate lunch with....PAPA!

The Warricks invited us to go to the Iowa State game w/ them on Saturday.  Somehow we ended up with matching shirts! :)

Thank Goodness for Skype!

We're thankful we can keep up with Grammi and Papa through Skype.  Now we just have to convince Ryan's brothers to get it so the boys can see their cousins! :)

Jack wanted to take a picture of Grammi and Papa...
