In like a lamb...

We've just about finished up our indoor home improvement projects, which is a good thing b/c it's practically felt like summer here this week.  And none of us here are stayin' inside w/ weather like this!  The deck furniture is out, we're grilling tonight, and my boots have been exchanged my Chacos...hello spring!  (No need to bust my bubble by finishing the ol' lion/lamb thing!)

Jack has a new favorite.  If you can't figure out what he's urgently pointing at, search the area for a drill; chances are, that's what he wants.  Not sure if it's because of all the construction we've been doing around here, so he knows what it does and likes it or if he just likes the looks of it.  I know anything and everything can be turned into a gun by a little boy, and a drill does resemble a gun, so maybe the gun thing starts a whole lot younger than I thought it did! :P

Weekend Project

We've talked about "remodeling" this bathroom since we moved in.  A few rebates to Menards and a couple gift cards showed up in the mail last week, so we decided it was time.  Ryan got the vanity and toilet torn out Friday night.  Saturday saw paint (that was my job), new flooring, new sink, toilet back in, and mirror hung.  Today he finished up w/ a light fixture.  A little trim is still left to do, but it's fully functional and looks awesome, so I'm not worried about a few pieces of trim!  I should be better at getting BEFORE pictures, but you really have to be on the ball b/c when Ryan gets going, there is no stopping him!  It's a hard space to photograph, so you'll have to come visit to really see it. :)

In Flight

We recently flew south to see Ryan's parents.  Jack did very well on all the flights, until about the last 20 minutes as we came into Des Moines.  It was past 10:00 and the poor kid was deliriously tired by that point.

He loved looking out the window.  Here he is hogging the window seat! :)

Playing at the airport

Finally asleep.  This kid goes down GREAT for naps and bedtime as long as he's laid down in a bed.  Getting him to sleep in your arms takes a LOT of walking.  He's not even 18lbs yet, but even 18lbs gets heavy after while.  Good work Ryan!
